The Triple Crown of Hiking Award

ALDHA-West honors individuals who have hiked the entire lengths of the Appalachian Trail (AT), the Continental Divide Trail (CDT), and the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT).

Those who complete all three are eligible for the official Triple Crown of Hiking Award, which includes public recognition and an optional commemorative plaque.

2023 Triple Crown Winners

The Triple Crown of Hiking Award is based on the Honor System — we trust you to be honest about completing all three trails. ALDHA-West does not investigate or verify if you actually completed the miles. We believe the true achievement is hiking the trails themselves; the award is simply a symbol of that accomplishment.

ALDHA-West does not recognize any additional qualifiers — such as age, nationality, race, speed, style (thru-hike vs. section hike), or any other personal distinctions. Every hiker undertakes the Triple Crown for their own reasons, and completing the hikes is honor enough. Since not all Triple Crown finishers apply for the award, it's not possible to track or validate claims about being the “youngest,” “fastest,” or other such titles. We don't keep official records to support or dispute such claims.

As of the 2024 awards ceremony, ALDHA-West has recognized a total 775 Triple Crown of Hiking Awards.
