Gathering 2012 - The venue for the 17th annual ALDHA-West Gathering was at Camp Arrah Wanna, Welches, Oregon. The camp is located east of Portland, about 40 miles on Highway 26.
Each fall, hikers from around the globe gather to celebrate the joys of long distance backpacking! ALDHA-West holds its annual Gathering in the fall at the end of the hiking season. Here, like minded individuals can get together to discuss the various trails, look at new gear and draw inspiration by viewing presentations of hikers' adventures.
At our Gatherings, you'll come face to face with the cream of the backpacking world. People who've hiked 10's of thousands of trail miles around the globe. You'll be treated to the largest concentration of Triple Crown recipients, people who've hiked all of the three major long distance trails (Appalachian Trail, Pacific Crest Trail and Continental Divide Trail). Nowhere will you get such a concentrated and personal exposure to the depth of hiking experience.
