Appalachian Trail - Major Web Sites

These are comprehensive sites and contain significant information concerning the Appalachian Trail. They should represent the first stop on your info quest.

Whiteblaze Very good forum discussions on all aspects of hiking the Appalachian trail.

The Trail Place website contain a great deal of information about the AT. Managed by Thru-Hiker Dan "Wingfoot" Bruce, it contains five mailing list, a number of online journals, an extensive searchable database of services found along the trail, including shuttles, thru-hiker registry, equipment reviews.

Authored by Kathy Bilton, the AT Home Page was the first online web page about the AT. It contains lot's of information about the AT It is being constantly updated with the latest information.

Appalachian Long Distance Hiking Association (sister organization) was started by former thru-hikers. >
