Gathering '98 - Photos Page 2
o. d. Coyote (left) took us on a journey along the AT. Through sight and sound we were transported along his 10 month adventure. Traveling slowly, he took time each day to record his thoughts and the going's on around. o. d. gave a truly remarkable narration. |
Members take a few minutes before the mornings round of presentations to reacquaint themselves and catch-up on old times. |
Triple Crowner, Steve Queen prepares us for a journey into the heart of the Northwest Territories in Canada. We travel along with Steve, Dave and Roberta Cobb as they brave the icy waters of three major river crossings and a host of minor ones. We travel through beautiful and remote country on an old pipeline service road. Built during WW II to provide needed oil for the war effort, it was quickly abandoned by wars end. Today much of it is overgrown or washing away. Designated the Canol Trail, this little used trail offers a wide range of contrast and challenges. Stop in and read Steve journeys on the Canol Trail. |
Roberta Cobb gave us the skinny on preparing great foods for the Long Distance Hiker. We sampled may of the treats she supplied to Dave on his CDT thru-hike in '96. I know my trail diet will certainly be improved. Expect to see a few of these taste treats on the website shortly. |
Following Roberta, many traveled out to the porch to take a look at different stoves |
